BOTOX® Cosmetic
(onabotulinumtoxinA) for Dentistry
Butler dentist Dr. Leanne McDonald has completed advanced training in the administration of BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) for dentistry with the world-renowned American Academy of Facial Esthetics.
BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a minimally-invasive facial injectable medication that may be used to enhance facial esthetics by:
- Reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles and forehead lines
- Minimizing ‘crow's feet’ wrinkles around the eyes (from laughing and squinting)
- Creating the appearance of ‘lifting’ sagging eyebrow lines
- Smoothing lip lines (This is especially beneficial for patients that have successfully quit smoking and have ‘smoker's lines’ around the lips.)
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a beautiful complement to cosmetic dentistry. Learn more about cosmetic dental treatments such as cosmetic porcelain veneers.
Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (Jaw Joints)
Dr. McDonald may recommend treatment of chronic TMJ pain, jaw popping or clicking with BOTOX® Cosmetic.
TMJ disorders can lead to migraine headaches and other pain symptoms. After a comprehensive dental examination, Dr. McDonald will recommend therapy to alleviate symptoms; treatment may include nightguard use for management of teeth grinding (bruxism) or clenching.
